In the mid 1950s, Fontaine City had a severe problem with teenaged street gangs with the east versus the west side of town. There was the hot rod racing gang called the D-Birds in the east. Their ladies were members of the girly clique called the Pink Chicks. These rebels went to school at Ryder High and spent their free time at their local hangout called Frosty’s Diner. Over on the west side of town, there was a motorcycle gang that went by the name of the Pit Vipers and their ladies were called the Black Widows. These hooligans attended Tuscadero High School and spent their free time at their local hangout - the Milkshake Shack. Occasionally, a dangerous drag race on Lightening Road would take place or a skirmish would break out if the opposing gangs discovered each other on their turfs or with their ladies, but for the most part - the Fontaine Police Department had the situation under control. At Ryder High, the cheerleaders formed the Campus Crew which was focused on reducing gangs and gang activity in the city. They thought that bringing the teens of Fontaine City together would help to solve the gang problem so they scheduled what was known to them as the Fontaine City 'Friendship' Sock Hop. To their surprise, both teens from the east and west arrived on the scene in fabulous '50s attire and enjoyed yummy appetizers while quizzing each other on fun '50s trivia. They engaged in thrilling games such as the Money Challenge, If there was rap in the '50s...Rap Contest, So you think you can ’50s dance and the Fascinating '50s Charades Challenge. The guests, for the most part, surprisingly got along without a hitch but it was soon unveiled that there was even an internal strife happening within the gangs. The Campus Crew got things back on track with a delicious '50s dinner while the guests drained their brains with a Sprinkle of the '50s Movie Challenge. To everyone’s shock, a murder victim was discovered and the teens quickly rallied together to figure out whodunit before the murderer could escape. After Detective Watson from the Fontaine City P.D. performed a preliminary forensic analysis of the crime scene, each guest submitted their final guesses of whodunit and took turns accusing each other. Then, everyone admitted to any involvement they had with the crime and the murderer confessed! After a brilliant escape attempt, the guests calmed everything down with a fun game of What '50s thing am I? Overall it was a sock hop that nobody in Fontaine City will ever forget!

HELPFUL HINTS ON HOW TO PLAY A MYSTERY GUEST INSTRUCTIONS
So you’ve been assigned a character and you’ve come to the party dressed in the most fabulous 1950s inspired costume and have been told to play your role. So now what? The mystery is separated into 3 rounds. During the party, you will be handed an envelope that contains the clues necessary for your character for the round. The clues for all of the required characters provide everything that you need to solve the mystery. However, during the investigation segment of the game, you will need to ask the right questions and pay close attention to everyone’s clues to be able to get the whole picture of what has happened. In each of your clue cards, there will be some information that you can reveal in casual conversation with other guests. It is just like real life! You can elect to have some of those clues as information that you should be ‘asked’ by other guests in order to reveal. You can hide the truth but do not lie and make up clues. This could alter the mystery for the other guests. Some of the information in your clue cards might be for actions to perform during certain rounds or it might give you personal information to explain to you how your character feels about certain issues involving other characters or situations. This personal information is given to you to enable you to act as the real character. And each character should - as in real life - know a little more about their character above the rest of the group. Therefore, these types of clues do not need to be revealed to the other guests unless you want to tell your secrets! Don’t worry, others will figure your secrets out on their own in later rounds if it is vital to the mystery. Just as with any dinner party most of the game play will involve mingling with the other characters and finding out about each other's characters and the clues you all have received. As the game progresses, you should have quite a bit of information to filter through to figure out the motive and the murderer! Read your clue cards thoroughly and take your time discussing issues with other guests. Make sure you speak to all guests in each round. Any guests who you feel might be hiding something - make sure to ask them loads of questions! You will be asked to submit a guess of ‘whodunit’ and why they did it at the end of round two. From this point forward, you are to remain in character until the mystery is solved. If you are playing a ‘spunky 1950s high school cheerleader,’ then that is who you are until the end! Undoubtedly, your host has cast you into a character that you are comfortable playing. There are some characters that are designed to be played more reserved than other characters that should be played more boisterous. Feel free to play your role however you feel comfortable. Embellish your character’s personality if you would like. However, if you are feeling more reserved tonight, you can opt to allow the other characters to approach you or you can simply listen in on others’ conversations to get your information.
