Sitting in sauna is a great winter sport... At the right temperature and a person weighing around 160lbs can burn about 100 calories in 10 mins! (Not recommended for longer than 30 mins) this is a perfect way to unwind after your cardio workout.

Hi All,

I am a sports therapist and offer sports and remedial massage. I am a keen tennis player and runner.. so will always do my best to treat you and where possible get you back to your chosen sport quickly!! I work from home in Hove but do offer home visits if necessary. Please ask if you need more info... : )

weekly badders meet up
There are quite a few off us who play badminton weekly. We play at the Stanley Deason leisure centre on Wilson Avenue
We play for fun as well as a bit off a work out and often meet up afterwards for a few beers
If you fancy coming along just send me an email and come along

It's a tough one - I was a member at Withdean for a while: Facilities are good and the staff are helpful & will carve out an initial training plan for you, however, its small so I'm not sure you'll get a guaranteed spot in the evening. They've got covered tennis courts, squash courts and outdoor athletics facilities too, plus a sauna. The only way to counteract the waiting for machines problem is to join an impersonal large gym like LA Fitness in North Rd, or Esporta in Falmer . Esporta has a pool but is very expensive.

Hope it helps,

Marco

Ok so I'm about to join a gym and just wondering if anyone has any suggestions/recommendations?

Last time I joined David Lloyd but I don't think I can justify the ever increasing cost. I guess a pool is negotiable, sauna would be a big plus and the rest just standard. I'm not fussed about whether or not it has a coffee shop, just fussed that the equipment is decent and that in the evenings when I finish work I'll be able to actually use it rather than it be packed with people....asking too much?

Thanks all

OK fitties, its now february, still cold outside but there are plenty of classes out there. I've been doing circuits in Southwick, but would like a class in Brighton... does anyone know of a good circuit class (indoors until the sun shines?!)
If so... please fill me in!
